Spiced Coffee Cake 

Ingredients 

• 125g butter 

• ¾ cup sugar 

• 2 eggs 

• 2 good tablespoons treacle 

• 2 cups SR flour 

• Pinch of salt 

• 2 teaspoons cinnamon 

• ¼ teaspoon ground cloves 

• ½ to ¾ cup black coffee 

Method 

Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, then treacle. Fold in dry ingredients and black coffee. Moderate oven.
