Ingredients
• 1 ½ cups plain flour
• ¾ level teaspoon carb soda
• ½ level teaspoon salt
• 1 ¼ cups dates
• ¾ cup brown sugar
• ½ cup water
• 115g butter
• 1 packet of choc bits
• 2 eggs
• 1/3 cup orange juice
• 1/3 cup milk
• ½ cup chopped walnuts
Method
Sift flour with salt and soda. In a large saucepan combine the brown sugar, water, butter and dates. Cook over slow heat stirring constantly until the dates soften. Remove from the stove and stir in the choc bits. Beat in the eggs. Add dry ingredients, orange juice and milk. Add walnuts. Bake in a swiss roll tin for 25-30 minutes.
